Geocells (Cellular Confinement System)

Our Geocells, featuring Strata Geosystems’ StrataWeb, is a lightweight yet high-strength, three-dimensional honeycomb cellular confinement system that is engineered to improve ground stability, control erosion, and enhance load support.
Manufactured from durable HDPE, these Geocells confine soil, sand, and/or gravel to significantly increase load-bearing capacity, reduce lateral movement, and minimize settlement on weak subgrades. Tensile strengths ranging from 20 kN to 800 kN make our Geocells ideal for MSE walls, slope protection, erosion control, and ground stabilization, suitable for a wide range of project needs.
Produced in one of the few GAI-LAP accredited factories in the world, we ensure consistent quality that meets global industry standards. Our Geocells are available in customizable sizes, delivering a flexible, cost-effective solution that enhances performance and extends the lifespan of infrastructure projects.

Load Distribution

Geocells distribute loads by confining infill material within a honeycomb-like cellular structure, creating a stable mattress that spreads pressure laterally and vertically. This reduces stress on weak subgrades, minimizes rutting and settlement, and improves bearing capacity. As loads are applied, the interconnected cells resist movement and maintain fill integrity. The result is stronger ground support, longer pavement life, and reduced material requirements for roads, slopes, and working platforms.

Pavement Reduction

By confining and stabilizing infill material, this cellular reinforcement system increases load distribution and improves base layer performance. The added structural support allows thinner pavement sections while maintaining strength and durability. Reduced aggregate and asphalt requirements help lower construction costs, shorten installation time, and minimize excavation. Slope Protection

Installed on slopes and filled with soil, aggregate, or concrete, this cellular confinement system creates a stable surface that resists erosion and shallow slope failure. The interconnected cells hold infill in place, reduce runoff velocity, and limit soil movement caused by rain, wind, or gravity. It supports vegetation growth for greener stabilization or can be hard-armored for channels and steep grades, providing durable, long-term slope protection with reduced maintenance.
